Posworld or Bookable for your salon: till included, or bookings only?

What is the biggest difference?

Posworld is the successor to Salonworld and calls itself all in one software for hair salons, beauty salons, pedicurists and dog groomers. Your diary, till, products and invoices live in one program. The site we checked is in Dutch.

Bookable does one job: making sure clients book themselves, turn up on time and pay up front if you want them to. There is no till, no stock control and no invoicing. That is a deliberate choice, and it is the first question you need to answer.

What does Posworld cost per month?

We checked the Posworld pricing page on 21 October 2026. All prices are monthly and exclude VAT. There are no setup costs.

What can come on top

• Text credits: 500 for €75 or 1,000 for €130. That is €0.15 or €0.13 per message.
• Peppol e invoices: 200 credits for €65 or 500 for €140.
• Plus modules at €12 a month and a newsletter module at €10 a month.
• A full website at €300 a year, with a web shop at €375 a year, and your own domain at €89 a year.
• A link to the accounting package Scrada at €130 a year.

Credits do not expire. Billing is quarterly by default.

And what does Bookable cost?

Bookable has two plans, excluding VAT and with no setup costs.

Both include WhatsApp and email reminders, deposits via Mollie with Bancontact or iDEAL, your booking link and your mini website. Mollie charges €0.39 per Bancontact payment, paid straight to Mollie. Praktijk adds several staff members, a waiting list, your own questions on the booking form, extras with their own price and length, and clients moving their own appointments.

Worked example: a salon with two stylists

Take a hair salon with two people in the diary, 50 appointments a week and 46 weeks open. That is 2,300 appointments a year, and every client gets a reminder. These are our own assumptions.

If you only send email reminders, the text cost disappears and Posworld Basic is cheaper at €540 a year. If you use the Posworld till, you may also save on a separate till system, so count that in. If you already have a till you are happy with, you would be paying Posworld for something you already own.

What does your client see when booking?

Both let clients book online around the clock. Posworld mentions several treatments per booking and last minute deals: discounts on empty slots to fill gaps. With Bookable, the client picks a treatment and a time, fills in their details and pays a deposit by Bancontact or iDEAL if you ask for one. No account or app needed.

What happens next differs. Bookable sends an email confirmation straight away, then a WhatsApp and email reminder before the appointment. At Posworld, reminders depend on your settings and texts use credits. Test both during the trial: book an appointment on your own phone as a client would, and see which messages arrive.

How does cancelling work?

According to the FAQ on its pricing page, a Posworld subscription runs in three month periods. You cancel at least one month before the end of the period, by registered letter. Posworld's own example: if your subscription ends on 28 August, your notice must arrive by 28 July.

With Bookable, a monthly plan stops at the end of the current month, and a yearly plan runs to the end of the paid year. When you leave, you get an export of all your clients and appointments.

That is no reason to avoid Posworld. A fixed period is simply worth knowing before you start.

A note on language

If you run your business in English, check in each trial which parts you can use in a language you are comfortable with: the screens you work in every day, the messages your clients receive and the help you get when something goes wrong. A cheaper tool you only half understand ends up costing you time at the busiest moments. Ask each provider a real question during the trial, in your own language, and see how quickly and how clearly they answer.

Who is Posworld the better choice for?

• You want a till with receipts and invoices in the same program as your diary.
• You sell a lot of products and track your stock.
• You send Peppol e invoices to businesses from your salon software.
• You used Salonworld and want to keep working the same way, but online.

In those cases Posworld does more than Bookable, and that is fine. A salon that sells shampoo, gift vouchers and styling products at the counter every day gets real value from having the till and the diary talk to each other, and a booking only tool will not give you that.

When is Bookable the better choice?

• Your till is already sorted. You only need something that fills your diary.
• You want reminders that get read, without paying per message. WhatsApp and email are in the price.
• You want to stay flexible. Monthly cancellation, no registered letter.
• You do not run a salon. Bookable also has ready made services for physios, massage therapists, coaches and yoga studios.
• You want to get going fast. Pick your trade and the usual services are ready with length and a from price. For a hair salon that includes a 30 minute gents cut from €25.
