Why the subscription is only part of it
When you compare booking systems, the first thing you look at is the monthly price. Makes sense, because it is in big letters on every pricing page. But what you pay at the end of the month is often a lot more. There are extra costs per staff member, per message, per new client and per payment.
We found the prices in this article on 30 September 2026, on the providers' own websites and help pages. Prices change, so always check them before you decide.
The costs to watch
The subscription
The fixed price per month. Salonized currently charges €21 for Appointments, €39 for Basic and €59 for Pro. Other providers, such as Optios and Planity, don't show their prices on their website and work with a quote.
Per staff member
If you work with several people, many systems charge extra per staff member. At Salonized that is between €5 and €7.50 per extra staff member per month.
Per message
Text reminders are often charged separately. At Salonized a text message costs between €0.11 and €0.15. That seems like very little, until you multiply it by the number of appointments.
Commission per client
Platforms that bring you new clients, such as Treatwell, take a percentage of every booking. According to Salonized's help page, Treatwell charges 35% commission on new clients, and 2% on prepaid bookings.
Payment fees
For an online deposit you pay a small fee to your payment provider. With Mollie that is €0.39 per Bancontact payment for Belgian businesses.
Setup fee
Some providers charge a single fee to set everything up. Always ask whether that comes on top.
A worked example
Take a business with eight appointments a day, five days a week. That is about 160 appointments a month.
