From DM to a link
A client sends a message: "Any space left this week?" You reply between two clients, the client replies in the evening, and five messages later an appointment is settled. Which you then still have to put in your diary.
With a booking link in your bio, your client skips all of that. They tap the link, choose a service and a time, and the appointment is in your diary. You don't have to do a thing.
Every appointment made by DM is an appointment you have to follow up by hand.
How to add your booking link to your bio
- 1Go to your profile and tap Edit profile.
- 2Tap Links and then Add external link.
- 3Paste your booking link.
- 4Give it a clear title, such as Book an appointment.
- 5Save, and drag your booking link to the top if you have more than one link.
Instagram allows up to five links in your bio. Always put your booking link at the top, because that is the link people should see first.
What about a Book button of your own?
Instagram has buttons such as Reserve and Book, but you can only connect those to official Meta partners. You can't simply attach your own booking link to them. A link in your bio does work for everyone, and does the same job.
Use your stories too
Got a free slot you still want to fill? Put it in a story with a link sticker to your booking link. That way whoever sees it can book straight away.
- A story saying "One spot left tomorrow at 2pm", with your booking link.
- A "Book" highlight on your profile, with an explanation and your link.
- A story after a new set or a new colour, with the link to book it yourself.
Don't forget Google
Lots of clients look you up on Google first. Add your booking link to your Google Business Profile as well. Open your profile, choose Bookings, click Add link and paste your link. That way people can also book directly from Google Search and Google Maps.
